Day 01 Arrival, Yangon
Your guide will meet you upon your arrival at Yangon international
airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will have a Yangon city
orientation to include great Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon. |

Day 02
Hlawga and Moeyungyi bird sanctuary <coach> 
Depart for Hlawga wild life park <approx 45 min>. Hlawga you may
spot resident birds like pale capped Pigeon, racket tailed Treepie,
stripe throated Bulbul with white-eye, which is only found in south
Myanmar, Sunbirds, Orioles, flower-peckers, bee-eaters etc. Continue
to Moeyungyi wetland Sanctuary <approx 2 hour> with a core area of
40 square mile area and inhabits about 80 species of birds. Spend
the evening birding along the shores of the wetland to spot birds
like blue throat thick-billed warbler, wagtails, Pipits, golden
Plovers, Harriers and Kites etc. Lunch on the way, dinner and
overnight at sanctuary resort.
Day 03 Moeyungyi - Pyay <coach>
Early boat ride in the sanctuary to spot some of the wetland birds
such as Greater spotted Eagle, Woolly-necked Stork, Asian Open bill,
Sarus Crane, Spot-billed Pelican, Painted Stork etc.
Late morning
depart for Pyay <approx 6 hour>. Lunch on the way, dinner and
overnight in Pyay.
Day 04 Pyay - Magway <coach>
In the morning birding in and around Pyay with possibly hooded
Treepie, Kalij Pheasant, white throated Babbler, possible green
Peafowl etc. Continue to Magway <approx 5 hour>. In the evening have
a short boat ride along the Ayeyarwady river to look out for sand
Larks, Indian Skimmer, Indian river Tern, black-billed Tern, pied
Kingfisher and little Tern etc. Lunch on the way, dinner and
overnight in Magway.
Day 05 Magway - Kazunma <coach / truck>
Depart for Chauk and cross Ayeyarwady river by newly built bridge to
Kazunma <approx 6 hour> to begin journey to the Chin hills. Lunch on
the way, dinner and overnight in Kazunma village.
Day 06 Birding around Kazunma
If you are lucky you may spot the endemic species such as hooded
Treepie among Alexandrine, grey-headed, red-breasted and
blossom-headed Parakeets, white-rumped Falcon, white-eyed Buzzard,
Woodpeckers, Babblers, laughing Thrushes, Minivets, Orioles, Chinese
Francolin, red Jungle fowl, green Pigeons etc
in the lowland forest.
Overnight in Kazunma village.
Day 07 Kazunma - Kampalat <truck>
Depart for Chin hills station town of Kampalat <approx 5 hour>,
situated at 4560 ft above sea. Kampalat was built by British during
colonial days in Myanmar and the gate way of Mt. Victoria which is
called Khawnuthone in Chin and Natmataung in Myanmar, meaning mother
of Spirits. The temperature at Kampalat is always cool and pleasant.
Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at local guesthouse.
Day 08 / 09 Kampalat - Mt. Victoria base camp <truck /
hike>
In the morning visit around this unique Chin settlement and proceed
to Mt. Victoria base camp where you will stay over next two nights
in this area. Lunch, dinner and overnight at camp.
During your stay in this area with the home to the endemic
white-browed Nuthatch and black-bibbed Tit etc. You may spot
brown-capped Laughing-thrush, black-headed Shrike Babbler, grey Sibia, blue-winged Laughing thrush, chestnut-crowned Laughing
thrush, striped laughing Thrush, slender-billed Scimitar Babbler,
Spot-breasted Scimitar Babbler, Brown Bush-Warbler, Russet Bush
Warbler, broad-billed Warbler, spot-breasted Parrot bill
Black-throated Parrot bill etc. You will also spot different
elevations with different habitats everyday. Birds like Mountain
Bamboo Partridge, Thrushes, Robins and Kalij Pheasants are usually
seen on the way to the summit. It is said that 5 species of
Nuthatches were found at 5 different elevations, the White-browed at
the highest and the Velvet-fronted at the lowest. Rare and colorful
birds like fire tailed Sunbird, Gould's Sunbird, Cutia,
chestnut-tailed Minla, blue-winged Minla, scarlet Finch, Minivets,
Robins, Flycatchers will keep you excited all the time. Infect it
was said that, for those who have never been to this area before,
there is a new bird in every meter you walk.
Day 10 Base camp - Kampalat <truck>
Return to Kampalat and site visit to some of the Chin ethnic
villages. Lunch on the way, dinner and overnight at local
guesthouse.
Day 11 Kampalat - Bagan <truck>
Depart for Bagan <approx 10 hour> via Pakokku. This will be
unfortunately long and tedious journey. Upon arrival at
Pakokku
cross the Ayeyarwady river with landing craft to Bagan. Lunch on the
way, dinner and overnight in Bagan.

Day 12 Bagan <coach>
Birding in and around Bagan will add the endemic Burmese Bush Lark
and White - throated Babbler, White-bellied Minivet, Spotted Owlet,
Rain Quail, Button Quail, Vinous-breasted Starling etc. Those
interested in archeology will spend some time, visiting famous
temples and pagodas built in 10 - 12 century. Lunch, dinner and
overnight in Bagan. |

Day 13 Bagan - Yangon <flight>
Late morning flight to Yangon and transfer to your hotel. Leisure
rest of the day. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Yangon.
Day 14 Departure
Transfer to airport for your onwards departure flight to conclude
this unique birding experience. |
