Day 01 Arrival
Arrival at Yangon International airport and transfer to your hotel.
Yangon has been the capital of Myanmar since the British transformed
it into their administrative centre of future India. Its impressive
colonial and spiritual heritage makes Yangon one
of the most
fascinating capitals of South East Asia. Rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight in Yangon.
Day 02 Yangon <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and visit lively fish and vegetable markets,
Karaweik hall known as a royal barge on the royal lake, Botataung
Pagoda said to have enshrinement of Buddha hair relic. Visit
historic Strand hotel and other colonial buildings and Bogyoke
market, a famous shopping center to enjoy display of Myanmar superlative handicrafts. Afternoon proceed to Shwedagon Pagoda,
which is claimed to be the world richest golden stupa of two
thousand five hundred years old. The golden dome rises 98 meters
above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. Overnight

Day 03 Yangon -
Kyaikhtiyo <coach / truck>
Breakfast at hotel and depart for Bago, an ancient Mon known as
Ramadesa <approx 1½ hour>. En-route stop at the Shwenyaungpin Nat
shrine to appeal for a safe journey and allied war memorial. Visit
Shwethalyaung the world biggest reclining Buddha Image believed to
have built in 994 AD. Proceed to Kyaikhtiyo <approx 3 hour> known to
the world as Golden Rock. Arrive at Kin pun base camp and board on
an open truck for 11 km steep and dirt road leads to the upper
staging point of Yathetaung camp. Continue walk up <approx 45 min>
to the renowned Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda site. As an easier alternative to
walking, four porters at an extra cost can carry you in a specially
made sedan chair. The rock is completely covered by gold leaf and
delicately balanced on the edge of the cliff. On arrival observe the
beauty of sunset at this important pilgrimage site. Overnight in
Kyaikhtiyo.
Day 04
Kyaikhtiyo Taungoo <coach>
Observe fantastic sunrise view at the hill top. Breakfast at hotel
and return to the base camp, meet your driver and continue to
Taungoo <approx 10 hour>. Taungoo is the capital of second Myanmar
dynasty of 15th century however little evidence is what left to be
seen. Overnight in Taungoo.
Day 05 Taungoo
Kalaw <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and drive to Kalaw <approx 8 hour> through the
mainland observing the dry zone of Myanmar as well as twisting and
turning hilly drive through Shan plateau. Kalaw is former British
hills station town, cool, spring-like weather, pine forests, tea
plantations and colorfully clad hill tribes make this town to a
natural magnet. Overnight in Kalaw.
Day 06 Kalaw Inle Lake <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and trek to Pinnepin village <approx 2 hour>
through farmland. In Pinnepin village there are multiple families of
Palaung tribes are living in a long house under the same roof.
Observe a traditional Palaung hand weaving and some of cheroot leaf
making process. Enjoy a panoramic view of the areas from nearby
Pagoda hill top. Return to the junction and proceed to Inle Lake.
Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 07 Inle Lake <boat>
Traveling on the lake is an exhilarating experience for nature
lovers and a chance to observe the unique traditions of the Intha
people.
Breakfast at hotel and visit one of the local market scheduled to be
held here either in the lake or around the shore of the lake to day.
Wonder unique leg rowing fishermen, floating firms, houses and
monasteries on stilt, famous Phaungdaw Oo pagoda housing five sacred
and almost shapeless Buddha images, and cottage industries.
Afternoon visit floating village of Ywama, the lake's downtown, the
weaving village of Inpawkhon and the Ngaphechaung, a museum like
monastery where old belongings of many monasteries are restored.

Day 08 Inle Lake - Pindaya <coach/trek>
Breakfast at hotel and depart for Pindaya Cave. Pindaya cave, known
to the world as the home of the countless Buddha Images. The road to
Pindaya winds over the rolling hills of the Shan plateau through
colorful mustard and whet field. Explore around wonder of the
mystery cave and near by Po O traditional paper umbrella making
process. Afternoon depart by car to Shwepahto <approx 30 min>. Off
the beaten trek to Kanhlagone Danu village <approx 1 hour>, and then
to Htinshugon <approx 1 hour>. Continue trek to Taunbawgyi Danu
village <approx 1 hour> and return to Pindaya <approx 1½ hour>.
Overnight in Pindaya.
Day 09
Pindaya - Mandalay <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and depart for Mandalay <approx 8 hour>. Mandalay
is the last kingdom as well as the center of the Myanma cultural and
tradition. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 10 Mandalay - Mingun Mandalay <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and visit to Mayanchan jetty and board on a local
fishermen boat for Mingun across Ayeyarwady river. Observe the
world's largest ringing bell weighing 90 tons and Mingun Pahtodawgyi,
an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain. Return to Mandalay
and continue visit "the largest book" on Buddhist library at
Kuthodaw Pagoda where entire Buddhist canon recorded on stone
tablets totaling 729 in number. Shwenandaw "Golden Palace Monastery"
to observe finest Myanmar wooden architecture. Enjoy fantastic view
of sunset from the Mandalay hill. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 11 Amapura - Sagaing Ava - Mandalay <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and visit Payagyi to observe the most
revered Golden-Seated Image at Mahamuni Pagoda. Continue to ancient
city of Amapura, meaning city of immortality, visit Mahagandayon
monastery to observe the lunch process of hundreds of Buddhist monks
and proceed to ancient capital of Ava and visit unique monasteries
and monuments include a look at 88 foot high watchtower, Bargaya
teak monastery which is famous for its teak pillars amounting to 267
in total and the remains of the royal palace and fort. Proceed to
Sagaing, covered with 600 white-painted pagodas and monasteries,
Sagaing hill is widely regarded as the religious centre of Myanmar
and is home of 6000 monks and nun, 100 meditation centers. On your
way home enjoy fantastic sunset view from the 200 year old U Bein
teak bridge span across Thaungthaman Lake. Overnight in Mandalay. |

Day 12 Mandalay
Bagan <ferry>
 Early morning depart transfer to jetty for your Bagan bound cruise
along majestic Ayeyarwady river to Bagan. <Shwekennery usually
departs Mandalay at 06:00 and arrives Bagan between 14:00 and 17:00
depends on the water level in the river. Bagan, the 11th century
archaeological site is considered one of the most remarkable sites
in Asia. Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 13 Bagan <coach>
Breakfast at hotel. Tour in the Asia richest archaeological zone
include the major monuments such as: Gawdawpalin, one of the largest
and most imposing Monument in Bagan, Anandar Temple, the best
preserved masterpieces of Mon architecture and near by brick
monastery, one of the few survived from Bagan period, Thabyinnyu,
the highest monument of universal science, Natlyaunhkyaung , the
only surviving of Hindu temple in Bagan where kind Anawratha used to
trap the Nat Idols in attempt to change the country from animism in
to Buddhism, Dhammyangyi, the temple of evil king for the unique of
double Image of Buddha and Shwesandaw temple for panoramic view of
entire ruin of Bagan. Afternoon visit traditional Lacquer-ware
workshop to observe the process of making unique Myanmar souvenir.
Continue to Myingabar Gubyaukgyi, an early period Pyu style temple
with Hindu influence old mural paintings, Manhua temple where
captive king Manhua was imprisonment. Enjoy sunset view from one of
the ruins. Overnight in Bagan.

14 Bagan -
Mt. Popa Bagan <coach>
If you are enthusiastic enough you may enjoy the fantastic sunrise
view from one of the ruin.
Breakfast at hotel and visit Htilominlo, temple where frescoes
representing 28 Buddha of the future, Wetkyi Inn Gubyaukgyi temple
to observe original 12 century Mural paintings, frescoes and
base-relief works depicting the entire life of the Buddha and his
disciples and Shwezigon Pagoda, prototype of later Myanmar stupas.
After a visit of enchanting Nyaung Oo market continue to Mt. Popa
<approx 1½ hour> an extinct volcano with its shrine dedicated to
animist spirits, known as "Nats". On the way observe passing by
local villages where farmers climb the palm trees to extract the sap
from which they produce palm sugar ball <brown sugar> and hand drill
edible oil production etc. For the energetic it is time to climb the
777 steps to the shrine at the top of the hill. Less energetic may
blend your self with local pilgrimage with their festivities at the
bottom. Return to Bagan and continue visit some of the most
interesting temples such as Payathonsu, and Nandarnannya with their
unusual architecture and tantric Buddhism influence. Enjoy the
sunset from one of the ruins. Overnight in Bagan. |

Day 15 Bagan Pyay <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and depart for Pyay, ancient Pyu capital in
central Myanmar <approx 10 hour>.
The 8th century capital known as Thiri Kettaya was the Pyu capital
until destroyed by King Anawratha from Bagan in 11th century. The
remains of the city cover about 19 square km, an area that was
entirely walled in ancient times. Now the ruins are hidden behind
thickets of thorny bushes. "Sriketra" was the largest and most
elaborate city built by the ancient Pyu from the 5th until the 15th
Century. Overnight in Pyay.
Day 16 Pyay Yangon <coach>
Breakfast at hotel and visit Ayeyarwady riverbank to observe the
life at busy river port
 and continue to Yangon <approx 6 hour>. On
your way you may have an opportunity to stop over at one of the
cattle market <held every 5 day at a different town along the
highway>. On these market hundreds of cattle and but double the size
of people milling around on the dusty earth floor. Overnight in
Yangon.
Day 17 Yangon
Breakfast at hotel and rest of day at leisure. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 18 Departure
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport for your onward departure
to complete this unique adventure. |
