     Highlight of Myanmar
Putao
A small, quiet place, surrounded by snow-capped mountains stretching from Tibet in the northwest. Steep fields in the valleys around are cultivated. There are gardens of hill rice, maize and mixed with cereal crops, cucumbers, gourds and huge marrows. The higher region is populated with pine, hemlock and silver fir mixed with some larch. From 2,750 meters to 3,660 meters almost pure conifer forests cover the slopes. There is a abundance of hardwoods such as oak, maple, birch, walnut, chestnut as well as rhododendron and others.

The people in the valleys catch fish in thorn-lined conical fish traps, with nets or harpoon. Cold weather mist hangs over the peaceful and serene surroundings almost 6 months of the year. Flowing streams and rivulets, straw-roofed houses and fences of pebbles and creek stones provide a pleasant, pastoral contrast to the scenes and sights of modern cities. People of the Rawan, Lisu, Khamti-Shan, Jingphaw and Kachin are represented in the region. Simple, direct, hard working and hospitable. They make their living in the lower areas by growing paddy and fruits. Many species of orchid and other exotic flora and fauna such musk deer, takin and flying squirrel are native to this region. The suspension bridges are the typical river crossing in this region.

Mt PhungamMt Phungam
Mt. Phungam, <3485 meters> above sea is situate in the Putao region is the most suitable peak to climb among the many peaks in the region. Mt. Phungam generally covered with snow except August and September. Mt. Phungam is about 60 miles north west of Putao near Myanmar - Indian border. The remoteness and inaccessibility of the region has helped to maintain the pristine purity of it forest and eco-systems. The richness of it's biodiversity deserves to be maintained and fostered in the interest of coming generations and present unparalleled opportunities to present-day professionals in the field of zoology, botany, forestry, environmental protection and conservation and ecology as well as hardy eco-tourists and mountaineers who prefer the challenge of a testing back-packing trip in the mountain fastness of Myanmar to a tour of routine attractions in the more accessible urban centers.

Mt. Hkakabo RaziMt. Hkakabo Razi
The region highest peak at 5,900 meters, is located in the northern most reaches of Kachin State. It is approximately 30 days trek to the bottom from Putao. The mountain standed virgin until conquered for the first time in 1997 by a team of Japanese and Myanmar climbers.

Hkamti
Although most people have heard about Naga tribes there are some who have see them and only a few who have been to their area. Among the indigenous tribes are Kachin, Hkamti Shan and Naga (The Naga were famous for their prominent head hunting custom which no longer exist to day but the very tribe can be seen in the market or at their work). Their settlement are up in the Lahe and Lashi Naga hills by the Saramari Mt. of some 12553 ft, which still is some how in accessible. Subject to travel, one could trek to the Naga Hills and may be scale the Mt. Saramari:- the un-inhabitant nature splendor.
